1st Module:  INSIGHTS into Personal & Professional Effectiveness

A Jungian-based personality assessment, INSIGHTS forms the cornerstone of the Executive Series program.  Participants will complete an on-line assessment from which a personality profile is compiled.  This profile enables the individual to better understand themselves which allows deeper understanding of others’ behaviors.  In better understanding these two concepts, more effective interaction with others is encouraged.

2nd Module:  Emotional Intelligence – Competencies for Transforming Leader’s Styles

The degree to which a leader can understand one’s own feelings, empathize with others and regulate emotions can have a profound effect on their leadership style and capabilities.  The Emotional Intelligence Core Competencies will identify behaviors necessary to provide insightful, dynamic leadership within the institution.  An on-line assessment resulting in an emotional intelligence profile will be used to identify the participant’s EQi.  Core competency behaviors can then be addressed to attain maximum individual leadership effectiveness.

Core modules

Defining an Organization’s Core Competencies - Focus
Before any organization can begin to strategize, the core competencies and focus areas of the business of the organization must be identified.  The session requires discussion of the values, vision and mission of the organization.  Based upon EQi competencies, the organization’s core competencies for leadership will be identified and a model implemented that will be articulated throughout the organization.

Strategic Planning in Uncertain Times
The constant evolution of technology, trade practices, mergers & acquisitions, and the global aspect and impact of and on business will be explored in this module.  Relying on the identification of the core competencies and business focus, this module will assist in solidifying strategic plans with an eye on the creativity needed to stay ahead of the competition.

From Crisis to Coherence – Planning for the Unplanned
From natural disasters to hostile take-over to mergers and acquisitions, every organization must be prepared to recoup and regain focus in the most expedient method possible in order to maintain the competitive edge.  This module explores the procedures and systems that must be safely accounted for, backed up and a plan to deal with crisis which will minimize the impact of the organization’s most critical business practices and components.

Navigating Complex Challenges
Organizations are often confronted with complex challenges that often require a different manner of addressing or a completely novel approach which will help to secure a spot in the forefront of competitiveness.  Using methods such as mind-mapping, the fish-bone and others, senior level executives will become familiar with methods that will encourage creative ways in addressing challenges.

Succession Planning for Effective Organizational Continuity
Often, organizations lose extremely valuable knowledge and concepts through retirement, job change or other modes of attrition.  The ability to forward a goal is hindered when information is lost through the separation of key individuals who have commanded the knowledge base of the often unspoken or unrecorded guidelines for completion of tasks.   In addition, it is imperative that key variables to identify potential leaders within the organization be considered in succession planning. The strategic plan and core competencies of an organization will be used to address the challenges associated with this important endeavor.

Communication
The key to effective interactions utilizing communication components, which include listening skills, are addressed.  Encouraging communication throughout the organization can be difficult but necessary in order for the organization to function at prime levels and to discourage the proverbial rumor mill.  Senior level executives have a responsibility to ensure that the proper communication regarding strategies and activities of the organization are in place.  The pulse of the organization can be monitored by developing listening skills that can be used to clarify communication.

Change and Conflict Resolution
The only constant in life is change.  Many organizations, while actively pursuing change, actually discourage it through organizational culture.  Discussion of the cycle of change and identification of where an organization is currently in the change cycle will be used to chart progress for the organization with regards to strategy, mission and vision.  With regards to conflict resolution, many divisive issues arise throughout the organization as a result of the inability of individuals to communicate effectively, compromise, collaborate or merely agree to disagree.  This, along with the art of negotiation will assist the efforts of senior level executives in managing change and conflict throughout the various levels of the organization.

It’s All in the Presentation
Senior level executives have must be poised to represent their organization in various situations and venues.  This module is devoted entirely to honing the presentation skills of executives.  Discussion and experiential exercises will prepare the individual in the ability to positively represent their organization whether in an impromptu situation or at a stockholder’s meeting.

Other modules can be developed which address needs that are reflective of the organization’s climate and culture.  A module which addresses conducting business; communication, cultural values and customs in a foreign country are included among these.
