Frequently asked questions
General
Coaching is a collaborative partnership where I work alongside you to help you achieve your personal and professional goals. Unlike therapy or consulting, coaching is forward-focused and action-oriented. My role is to empower you to unlock your own potential and create sustainable, meaningful change in your life.
I'm grounded in ICF (International Coaching Federation) core competencies and certified in John Maxwell's proven leadership and personal development methodologies. My approach emphasizes adding value to you, supporting your intentional growth, and developing your influence and leadership capacity. Together, we'll focus on helping you maximize your potential, develop strong leadership principles, and create positive change in yourself and those around you.
I'm here to be fully present with you and actively listen without judgment. I'll ask powerful questions that challenge your thinking and expand your perspective, and I'll hold you accountable to your commitments and goals in a supportive way. I maintain complete confidentiality within ethical boundaries and provide a safe, trusting space for your exploration and growth. I walk alongside you as you gain clarity and tap into your unique strengths.
Absolutely. Everything we discuss in our coaching sessions remains strictly confidential in accordance with ICF ethical standards. I will not share any information about our coaching relationship or session content with anyone without your written consent. The only exceptions are situations involving imminent danger to you or others, or when required by law. Your trust and privacy are foundational to creating the safe coaching environment you deserve.
While therapy typically addresses healing from past issues and consulting provides expert advice and solutions, I partner with you as a whole and capable individual. We focus on your present circumstances and future possibilities. You are the expert on your life, I'm here to facilitate your discovery process and help with accountability for you to move forward with clarity and confidence.
I'm committed to your success, and coaching works best when we're both fully engaged. I'll ask you to come to our sessions prepared and ready to engage honestly, complete any actions we agree upon between sessions, and remain open to examining your beliefs and perspectives. You'll want to invest time for reflection and self-discovery and take ownership of your goals and outcomes. I'm here to support you, but your commitment to the inner and outer work is what creates transformation.
I typically require payment in full at the start of our coaching program. This investment in yourself demonstrates commitment to the process and allows us to focus entirely on your growth without administrative distractions. That said, I understand that everyone's financial situation is unique, and I'm happy to work with you on a payment plan that makes coaching accessible for you. We'll discuss payment options during our initial consultation to find an arrangement that works for both of us.
Most of my clients find that 3-6 month programs with bi-weekly or weekly sessions work well, though this varies based on your unique goals and the depth of transformation you're seeking. During our initial consultation, we'll discuss the best structure for your specific needs and design a program that feels right for you.
Life happens, and I understand that. I ask that you provide 24-48 hours notice for cancellations or rescheduling whenever possible. Late cancellations may result in forfeited sessions, as outlined in our coaching agreement. This policy helps me serve all my clients well and protects the time we've set aside specifically for your growth.
